Shisa Pangma, at a height of 8,012m, ranking the 14th highest mountain in the world, it is located entirely in Chinese territory, 120km away from Mt. Everest. Molamenqing (7,703m) is at its east, and Gangpengqing (7,292m) at the northwest.

Mt.Everest, the main peak of the Himalayas, is the highest peak on the earth. At an altitude of 8848 meters (29,035 feet), it is located at 86.9°E and 27.9°N, right on the east section of the Sino-Nepal border, with the north slope in Tingri County of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the people's Republic of China, and the south slope in the Kingdom of Nepal.

Mt. Chu Oyu is the sixth highest peak in the world. The north side is located in Tingri County of Tibet Autonomous Region of China and the South side belongs to the Kingdom of Nepal.

Galuo Nunnery (ASL 4700 meters) lives about 100 nuns.

The team hired six nuns as porters from the nunnery to ABC. Each porter can carry 15kg for RMB 60 yuan.

Gamardeji (left) is the abbot of this nunnery. She can speak a little Madarin and has been to Beijing before.

It took them 4 hours from Galuo Nunnery to ABC (ASL 5450 meters).

Tibetan Mountaineering School was jointly started by Tibetan Mountaineering Association and Ozark Gear in 1999. Students here will learn climbing theories, mountaineering skills, cooking, and languages. The graduates will join the official climbing organization or work as climbing guides.
